Dallas, Texas – January 7, 2021 – Re-Teck, a member of the Li Tong Group and a global leader in Reverse Supply Chain Management Solutions, is partnering with wireless carriers and retail outlets worldwide as they prepare to manage the influx of used electronic devices after the holiday season when many consumers upgrade their phones, tablets and computers for newer models. This partnership allows carriers and retailers to offer an environmentally friendly option for their customers to trade in their old electronics knowing they will be harvested for parts that can be reused or repurposed and then the remainder of the device properly recycled. Forecasters predicted a 20% increase in electronic sales during the holidays as more consumers experienced the reliance on phones and computers due to the COVID-19 pandemic that caused millions to school and work from home. When consumers purchase new electronics and simply dispose of old electronics in the trash, this electronic waste, or e-waste, ends up in landfills and subsequently has harmful effects on the environment. Carriers and retailers have been proactively offering their customers an alternative to safely dispose of e-waste.
“Most consumers today are not only tech savvy but environmentally conscious. They want to know their old devices are being repurposed, reused or recycled,” commented Keith Elliano, VP New Business Development at Li Tong Group, parent company for Re-Teck. “Re-Teck offers the peace of mind knowing the highest level of data sanitization has occurred and that every possible component is being repurposed or reused.”
Re-Teck’s global network of 26 wholly owned facilities across 4 continents and over 20 countries partners with industries to repurpose, reuse and recycle electronic equipment including laptops, tablets, and cell phones, as well as obsolete cellular network equipment and servers.
